the city was a pleasant return to the familiar, yet an unpleasant return into isolation. The entry back into family life came with the removal of most physical contact with the few friends I hold in such high regard. Conflicting feelings of love and frustration for the town I was raised in have caused my emotions to scramble. Working on this project I attempt to make sense of the beauty and comforting nature of this space that can be so overwhelmingly dead and lacking of stimulation. This project is in no way complete. The initial goal being to create a visual document of Boston's underground music community with the majority of events taking place in student owned apartments. As time passed the grand scope of the project resembles close to nothing of my original design. I was enticed to go deeper into the subject than any other pursuit I had attempted at that time. My mind molted out of its previous form and revealed it’s true visual instincts. It is this project that forced out what once was and in its place grew a completely new way of how I think about photography.
