I made it there and back again! My first time ever showing work in an art show setting that was outside of school. Not the most prestigious of events, but I learned a lot about what it takes into prepping for a show. I did a lot of yelling and frantically ordering things online to make the deadline. It's safe to say I will be prepared way before the deadline the next time I find an opportunity to hang up some work.
My presentation was new work from The Underground project. Edited mostly without the help of a critique group, something I have sorely missed since leaving NESOP. Attempts have been made to re-kindle occasional meetings but life gets in the way. It's virtually impossible to see the best in one's own work, a teacher once told me. It's very possible that there are some gems that I've missed. I felt I did well, though, going through the editing process alone. It's difficult, but this wouldn't be any fun if it wasn't.
See you at the next one.
